MPS is hiring for Consulting Editor with M Pharma background for Chennai Location.

As a consulting editor you are the first touchpoint of a newly submitted manuscript (or abstract). The main role of a Consulting Editor is therefore to conduct initial checks to:
Determine if the manuscript complies with the Editorial Policies and the Aims and Scope of the specific journal they have submitted under.
If there is a more suitable journal based on the study criteria and topic, to offer this to the author
Assess clinical trial papers for adherence to clinical trial guidelines and registration.
Check whether the study has received the appropriate approval for human and/or animal ethics.
Assess the paper for English language, related to the understanding of scientific ideas, so that the best version of the manuscript is sent through to peer review.
Check the quality of the paper by investigating papers for salami-slicing or redundancy.

Desired Skills:




Excellent English communication skills for effective interaction with all stakeholders.
Prior experience in scientific publishing as an Editorial Assistant in any of the Peer review services (JEO/RSE/RI/Desk transfer editor)
Publication history of their own would be an added advantage
A valuable understanding of publishing workflow/scientific concepts
A valuable understanding of best practices in medical research, publication ethics, research integrity and Clinical trials
Ability to address complex challenges and identify opportunities for customer support improvement.
Strong teamwork abilities for both independent and cooperative work environments.
Proven capability to manage tasks independently, from coordination to execution and supervision.
