Key Responsibilities
Operating Equipment: Operating rotary, air-track, or diamond drill rigs to create blast holes or core samples to specific depths.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all drilling activities comply with environmental, safety, and health regulations, including managing drilling fluids and identifying hazards.
Drilling Optimization: Monitoring pressure, rotation speed, and penetration rates to adjust techniques for varying rock conditions.
Site Management: Preparing drilling sites, setting up machinery, and performing daily inspections/maintenance on rigs.
Data Collection & Reporting: Recording daily drilling progress, including geological data and samples collected, and completing daily drilling reports.
Supervision: Leading a team of drillers' offsiders or assistants to ensure productive operations and proper maintenance
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical operations and troubleshooting equipment.
Physical Fitness: Ability to work in challenging environments,
including heat, cold, and dusty conditions, often for 12-hour shifts.
Experience: Previous experience as a driller’s offsider or similar assistant role is highly desirable.
Qualifications: While high levels of formal education are often not required, specialized licenses for explosive handling or machine operation may be required.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license, safety certificates (e.g., mine safety training), and valid certification to operate specific types of machinery.
Physical & Working Conditions
Workplace: Underground or surface mining sites.
Schedule: Often involves long, intense 12-hour shifts and rostered work (e.g., Fly-in-Fly-out).
Demands: Physically demanding work including handling heavy tools and performing maintenance.
Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
