Role & responsibilities
conduct fire risk assessments across campus buildings, laboratories, hostels, libraries, and auditoriums.
Ensure compliance with fire safety laws, the National Building Code (NBC), and local fire department requirements.
Inspect and maintain fire protection systems such as:
Fire extinguishers
Hydrant systems
Sprinkler systems
Fire alarm and detection systems
Emergency lighting and exit signage
Plan and conduct fire evacuation drills for students, faculty, and staff.
Train employees and students on emergency response, extinguisher use, and evacuation procedures.
Prepare and maintain emergency response plans and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) where required.
Coordinate with the local Fire Department during inspections and fire NOC renewals.
Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain records of inspections, equipment testing, maintenance schedules, and statutory documentation.
Monitor contractors to ensure protected work practices during construction, renovation, or maintenance.
Promote fire safety awareness through campaigns, posters, and training sessions.
