Clinical Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED).
Perform rapid triage and prioritize patients based on clinical urgency.
Stabilize critically ill and injured patients using Advanced Life Support (ALS) protocols.
Manage medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, trauma, and poisoning emergencies within the scope of practice.
Initiate appropriate investigations and interpret laboratory and imaging results.
Perform emergency procedures, including:
Endotracheal intubation
Central venous catheterization
Arterial line insertion
Chest tube insertion
Defibrillation and cardioversion
Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
Basic wound management and suturing
Fracture immobilization and splinting
Lumbar puncture (where credentialed)
Determine the need for admission, discharge, observation, or referral
