Role Description The Head Waiter / Captain role is a full time, on-site position based in Gurugram. This role oversees the dining floor, coordinates the service team, and ensures guests receive attentive, high-quality service throughout their visit. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, managing table allocations, supervising food and beverage service, and handling guest inquiries or concerns in a professional manner.

The Head

Waiter / Captain trains and guides waitstaff, coordinates with the kitchen and bar teams, and monitors service standards, cleanliness, and presentation in the dining area. The role also involves assisting with order taking,



checking dishes before service, supporting special events or large bookings, and maintaining a courteous, effective, and safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and relationship building.

Knowledge of food & beverage offerings and food service operations, including menu familiarity and basic service procedures.

Effective communication skills for coordinating with guests, team members, and kitchen staff.

Basic understanding of cooking or food preparation processes to liaise confidently with the culinary team.

Prior experience in a supervisory or senior waitstaff role in restaurants, hotels, or similar hospitality settings.

Ability to lead and train service staff, manage shift operations, and handle busy service periods calmly.

Strong attention to detail, personal grooming, and adherence to hygiene and food safety standards.

Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related training or certification is an advantage.
