Key Job Responsibilities of an Intensivist:
Patient Assessment and Management: Evaluate and manage critically ill patients, making decisions about treatment, testing, and procedures.
Advanced Procedures: Perform critical procedures like intubation, central line placement, and arterial line insertion.
Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, etc.) to develop and implement patient care plans.
Monitoring and Interpretation: Monitor patient progress closely, interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., blood gas analysis, ECG, etc.).
Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and families about their condition and prognosis, as well as with other healthcare specialists.
Education and Mentorship: Teach and mentor medical residents, fellows, and other staff.
Research and Quality Improvement:



Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
