Role & responsibilities

Pre-Operative Duties
Prepare operation theatre before surgery.
Check functioning of OT equipment, lights, suction apparatus, cautery, monitors, and anesthesia machines.
Arrange sterile surgical instruments, drapes, linen, and consumables.
Ensure sterilization of instruments as per infection control protocol.
Assist in patient shifting and positioning for surgery.

Intra-Operative Duties
Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during procedures.
Provide required instruments and materials promptly.
Maintain sterile field throughout surgery.
Handle surgical equipment safely.
Monitor OT supplies and maintain smooth workflow.

Post-Operative Duties
Clean and disinfect OT after procedures.
Send instruments for sterilization.
Dispose biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
Prepare OT for next surgery.
Maintain records of procedures and equipment usage.

Preferred candidate profile





Educational Qualification
Diploma / Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) OR
B.Sc.

Technology

Experience
13 years experience in hospital OT preferred.
Fresh candidates with OTT certification may be considered.

Required Skills
Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
Sterilization and infection control practices
Basic life support awareness
Equipment handling skills
Ability to work under pressure
Team coordination and communication
