Job Summary The Physics lab technician is responsible for preparing laboratory experiments, maintaining scientific instruments, assisting faculty and students during practical sessions, ensuring laboratory safety, and managing laboratory inventory and records.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and experiments for practical sessions.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and apparatus.
Assist faculty and students during laboratory classes and project work.
Manage inventory of equipment, consumables, and laboratory assets.
Ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures and protocols.
Maintain laboratory records, equipment logs, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree (M.Sc.) in Physics, Applied Physics, Electronics, Instrumentation or a closely related discipline.
Robust knowledge of Engineering/undergraduate Physics laboratory experiments and instrumentation.
Proficiency in handling, calibration, and maintenance of scientific instruments.
Working knowledge of laboratory safety standards and procedures.
Proficiency in computer skills like MS Office, LabVIEW programme and laboratory record management.
Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an academic, research, or technical laboratory workplace is preferred.
