Overview:
The Junior IT Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance within the IT department. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems and networks, as well as resolving technical issues for internal and external users.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users, including desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices.
Assist in the implementation of IT security protocols and procedures.
Respond to IT support requests and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Perform system and network upgrades, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
Assist in the documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and inventory management.
Collaborate with senior IT staff on projects and initiatives to improve IT infrastructure.
Conduct software installations, updates, and patches as required.
Participate in the evaluation and testing of recent technologies and solutions.
Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on IT systems and software.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are advantageous.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer service.
Experience with system administration and IT support is a plus.
