Position Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring protected medication practices, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and providing pharmaceutical care to patients in compliance with hospital policies, Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC) regulations, the Pharmacy Act, 1948, NABH standards, and applicable statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Dispense medications accurately against valid prescriptions after verifying dosage, drug interactions, contraindications, and patient details.
Review prescriptions for completeness and clarify discrepancies with prescribing physicians whenever required.
Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, precautions, and possible side effects.
Ensure compliance with KSPC regulations, the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, and hospital pharmacy policies.
Maintain appropriate storage conditions for medicines, including cold chain products and controlled substances.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement to prevent stock shortages or expiries.
Perform stock verification,



expiry monitoring, and ensure FEFO/FIFO practices.
Maintain accurate records for narcotic, psychotropic, and scheduled drugs as per statutory requirements.
Participate in medication reconciliation and support medication safety initiatives.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols.
Maintain pharmacy documentation, billing accuracy, and inventory records.
Report adverse drug reactions (ADR) and medication errors through the appropriate reporting system.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare specialists to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care.
Participate in NABH quality initiatives, audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.

Educational Qualification
Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
Mandatory Registration with Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC) with a valid registration certif
