Role & responsibilities:
repare the operating theatre, instruments, and surgical team for procedures.
Assist surgeons during operations as a scrub or circulating nurse.
Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques at all times.
Monitor patient vitals and condition during pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases.
Verify patient identity, consent, surgical site, and procedure before surgery (surgical safety checklist).
Handle surgical instruments, sponges, and sutures with precision and accuracy.
Maintain accurate and complete OT records and nursing documentation.
Safely count and track surgical items to prevent retained instruments.
Manage OT supplies, instruments, and equipment, and report malfunctions promptly.
Coordinate with anesthesia, surgical, and recovery teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Adhere to all hospital protocols, infection control practices, and quality standards.
