Job Description: Key Roles & Responsibilities
Operate conventional surface grinding machines to grind and finish metal components to exact dimensions.
Perform machine setup, wheel mounting, and alignment before grinding operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Ensure accurate surface finish, flatness, and dimensional tolerance of machined parts.
Conduct in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and height gauges.
Monitor grinding operations to maintain quality and consistency of finished parts.
Perform dressing of grinding wheels and maintain proper grinding parameters.
Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of grinding machines and work area.
Follow safety procedures and quality standards during operations.
Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet daily production targets.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hands-on experience in conventional surface grinding operations.
Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances.
Knowledge of grinding wheels, dressing techniques, and surface finishing.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
Solid attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control.
Ability to work in a manufacturing or tool room setting.
Educational Qualification
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Machinist / Turner or equivalent technical qualification.
