Job Description: Key Roles & Responsibilities
Operate conventional tool and cutter grinding machines to sharpen and manufacture cutting tools.
Perform grinding of drills, end mills, reamers, cutters, and other precision tools.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and tool specifications.
Set up machines, select grinding wheels, and adjust parameters for accurate grinding operations.
Ensure proper tool geometry, sharpness, and dimensional accuracy.
Inspect finished tools using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
Maintain proper tool records and grinding parameters.
Perform routine machine maintenance and wheel dressing.
Ensure cleanliness and safety in the tool room and machine area.
Coordinate with production and CNC operators to ensure availability of properly maintained cutting tools.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hands-on experience in tool and cutter grinding operations (conventional machines).
Knowledge of cutting tool geometry and sharpening techniques.
Ability to read technical drawings and tool specifications.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
Solid attention to detail, accuracy, and tool performance.
Ability to work in a tool room or manufacturing setting.
Educational Qualification
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Tool & Die Making / Machinist or equivalent technical qualification.
