Job Description:
Key Job Responsibilities
CAM Programming: Develop and optimize CNC/VMC programs for complex components using Mastercam software.
Tooling & Setup: Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and fixtures based on material and part geometry to ensure optimal machining conditions.
Process Optimization: Analyze machining processes to reduce cycle times, minimize rejections, and improve overall efficiency.
Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T; symbols to define tool paths.
Machine Operation & Trial Runs: Set up VMC machines (often with Fanuc or Siemens controls), conduct trial runs, and make necessary offset adjustments.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect machined parts using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and CMM to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of machine setups, programs, and inspection reports.
Requirements & Skills
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience specifically in VMC programming and operation.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Mastercam; additional knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks is often preferred.
Education: BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
