Purpose/Objective

This role leads the development and implementation of health and safety standards, aligning with ATGL's strategic goals. Responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading sustainability initiatives, managing contractor safety, and enhancing safety measures through digitization. The HSE Head ensures employee well-being, operational integrity, and the company's commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Health and Safety Leadership: Spearhead the implementation of Group-wide health and safety standards, ensuring rigorous compliance across all operational facets of Adani Total Gas Limited. Define the strategic trajectory and operational roadmap for health and safety initiatives, aligning departmental objectives with overarching organizational goals. Oversee the comprehensive health and safety protocols for all company processes, meticulously adhering to industry-specific safety regulations, particularly in the realm of gas safety. Oversee immersive training sessions to equip manpower across diverse geographical areas with the requisite safety acumen. Prepare and facilitate for high-level management reviews, presenting insightful reports and actionable recommendations to enhance safety practices. Track and analyze monthly reports and management information systems (MIS) to proactively identify potential safety gaps and devise targeted interventions. Ensure the availability and adequacy of cutting-edge safety equipment and resources to fortify machinery and equipment operations. Oversee accident management response, orchestrating thorough investigations, and distilling key learnings to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and execute forward-thinking strategic action plans, nurturing a culture of safety excellence across all organizational echelons. Conduct on-site visits to various operational sites, fostering direct engagement and gaining firsthand insights into the efficacy of safety protocols. Collaborate with industry peers and external experts to benchmark best practices and emerging trends in risk management,



incorporating innovative solutions to enhance safety protocols. Ensure that regular emergency response drills and exercises are conducted to test the effectiveness of response plans and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and refinement. Contractor Safety and Compliance Oversight: Lead management of contractor safety, verifying qualifications, certifications, and ongoing compliance with safety protocols. Institute a robust contractor ranking and rating system, orchestrating pre-mobilization meetings, regular assessments, and recognition programs to incentivize safety excellence. Spearhead the proactive reporting system, leveraging digital tools such as GenSuite to capture, analyze, and swiftly respond to safety incidents and concerns. Committees and Governance Management: Govern and oversee the safety standards of geographical area teams, contributing valuable insights and directives during regular committee meetings. Collaborate with various safety-centric committees, including the Business Safety Council, Regional Teams, GA(Geographical Area) safety committee, and the Task Force, ensuring alignment with safety objectives. Prepare for and lead audit inspection management, ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards and regulations. Sustainability Initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Architect the sustainability strategies of the company, spearheading initiatives encompassing renewable energy adoption, methane leak detection, emissions reduction, and water conservation. Regularly compile and analyze sustainability metrics, culminating in the preparation of comprehensive business risk sustainability reports to guide strategic decision-making. Develop & maintain a culture of sustainability consciousness, actively identifying and implementing creative measures to reduce waste,



mitigate environmental impact, and foster resource conservation. Act as a steward for corporate social responsibility endeavors, orchestrating impactful initiatives such as drivers' welfare programs, water conservation projects, and community engagement initiatives. Digitisation & Automation: Spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge digitization and automation strategies to enhance safety practices, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Integrate digitalization and automation technologies with sustainability initiatives to optimize resource consumption, reduce environmental impact, and drive efficiency gains across operations. People Engagement and Team Leadership: Galvanize resources across departments, ensuring a unified front in addressing health and safety imperatives and fostering a culture of safety excellence. Provide mentorship and coaching to nurture talent and foster professional growth within the HSE team. Identify high-potential individuals and create succession plans to ensure continuity and leadership development within the HSE function. Implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent, fostering a culture of talent management and career advancement. Uphold a relentless commitment to excellence, constantly evaluating and refining safety protocols, driving compliance with the latest industry standards, and instilling a culture of safety ownership across all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Professional certifications in HSE, such as NEBOSH, CSP, or CIH, are preferred. Work Experience A minimum of 20 years of experience in HSE leadership roles, with a proven track record in high-risk sectors. Preferred Industry Experience in industries such as gas, oil, petrochemicals, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
