About The Job:

We are seeking detail-oriented and analytical US Mortgage Underwriters to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting Conventional (QM), Non-QM, and DSCR residential mortgage loans while ensuring compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory guidelines. You will assess borrower eligibility by analyzing income, assets, credit, employment, and collateral, making sound underwriting decisions that balance risk and quality.

Essential Job Functions:

US Mortgage Live Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and underwriting residential mortgage loan applications, including Conventional (QM), Non-QM and DSCR products. The role involves assessing borrower eligibility, analyzing risk, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines,



and making sound underwriting decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review and underwrite Conventional (QM), Non-QM and DSCR mortgage loans.
Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, employment and collateral to assess eligibility and risk.
Evaluate alternative documentation loans including Bank Statement, Asset Depletion, 1099 Income, ITIN and P&L-only; programs.
Ensure compliance with agency, investor, company and regulatory guidelines.
Issue approvals, conditions, suspensions or denials based on underwriting standards.
Review and clear underwriting conditions and resubmitted documentation.
Collaborate with loan officers, processors, brokers and internal teams to support timely loan decisions.
Maintain accurate underwriting records and support quality control and audit processes.
Stay updated with mortgage products, investor requirements and regulatory changes.
Perform Pre-Closing Audit and Post-Closing Audit.
Qualifications
2-5 years of US Mortgage Underwriting experience including Conventional (QM) and Non-QM loan products.
Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Non-QM and DSCR underwriting guidelines.
Experience with income analysis, risk assessment and mortgage compliance.
Hands-on experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS),



DU/LP and document management systems (Encompass/Calyx Path preferred).
Strong analytical, decision-making and communication skills.

Qualifications:

12th pass candidates with strong relevant mortgage underwriting experience can be considered
