Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced and visionary Senior Fashion Designer who can lead the entire design processfrom concept creation to final production. The ideal candidate should possess strong creative instincts, technical expertise, and commercial understanding to build collections that are innovative, luxurious, and aligned with The Royaleum's brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Collection Development
- Lead the creative direction for all seasonal collections.
- Develop 46 collections annually based on seasonal trends and market demand.
- Create original design concepts, mood boards, and collection stories.
- Design luxury Indian wear including lehengas, sarees, kurtas, jackets, gowns, and occasion wear.
- Ensure every collection reflects The Royaleum's luxury aesthetic.
2. Fashion Illustration & Sketching
- Create detailed fashion illustrations by hand and digitally.
- Prepare technical sketches for production.
- Develop design specifications and construction details.
- Present concepts to management with clear visual storytelling.
3. Trend Forecasting & Market Research
- Research international and Indian fashion trends.
- Forecast colors, silhouettes, fabrics, embroideries, and prints.
- Analyze competitor brands and luxury market movements.
- Identify upcoming consumer preferences.
4. Creative Vision
- Build a long-term design vision for The Royaleum.
- Introduce innovative concepts while maintaining brand DNA.
- Drive print, embroidery, and silhouette innovation.
- Develop signature design elements unique to the brand.
5. Color & Print Development
- Create seasonal color palettes.
- Develop exclusive print stories inspired by Indian heritage.
- Coordinate color combinations for garments and embroideries.
- Work closely with print and dyeing vendors.
6. Fabric Development
- Source and develop premium fabrics.
- Recommend suitable fabrics based on drape, construction, and functionality.
- Maintain strong knowledge of silks, organza, velvet, georgette, crepe, tissue, brocade, linens, cottons, and sustainable textiles.
- Collaborate with textile suppliers for exclusive developments.
7. Embroidery Development
- Design intricate embroidery layouts.
- Develop embroidery swatches and sampling.
- Work with karigars and embroidery units.

- Estimate garment costing during the design stage.

- Optimize fabric utilization and embroidery costs.

- Conduct fittings and design corrections.
- Ensure quality, fit, finishing, and luxury standards.
- Coordinate with production for smooth execution.
10. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor junior designers and design assistants.
- Delegate work efficiently.
- Conduct regular design reviews.
- Foster creativity and innovation within the team.
11. Vendor & Artisan Coordination
- Work closely with embroidery units, printers, dye houses, and fabric suppliers.
- Travel for sourcing and artisan development when required.
- Build long-term relationships with skilled craftsmen across India.
Required Skills
- Exceptional hand sketching and fashion illustration skills.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of CLO 3D or similar software is an advantage.
- Robust understanding of luxury Indian wear.
