IT Engineer Toll Plaza

Role Purpose:

Maintain, troubleshoot, and support toll plaza IT systems, hardware, software, networks, and electronic toll collection (ETC) operations to ensure uninterrupted toll transactions.

Key Responsibilities

- System & Infrastructure Management
- Monitor and maintain toll collection systems, lane equipment, and servers.
- Support ETC systems such as RFID/FASTag readers, lane controllers, and transaction systems.
- Hardware & Network Support
- Perform network monitoring and resolve connectivity issues.

Operations & Reporting

- Coordinate with software vendors and maintenance teams for issue resolution.
- Monitor system uptime and prepare incident reports.
- Conduct preventive maintenance of toll plaza equipment.
- Maintain documentation of IT assets, repairs, and configurations.
- Provide technical support to toll operators and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with toll authority and project IT standards.

Handover & Takeover (Plaza-Level IT)

Handover Activities

- Prepare and submit complete documentation of IT assets, configurations, and maintenance records.
- Transfer system credentials, access rights, and security policies to the incoming team.
- Conduct joint inspection of lane equipment, servers, and network infrastructure with the takeover team.

Takeover Activities

- Review and verify all documentation, credentials, and system reports received.




- Validate operational status of toll collection systems, lane controllers, and ETC devices.
- Acknowledge receipt of IT assets and formally assume responsibility for plaza IT operations.

Validator Toll Plaza

Role Purpose:

Verify and validate toll transactions, vehicle categories, payment records, and exceptions to ensure accurate toll collection.

Key Responsibilities:

- Validate toll transactions processed through toll lanes.
- Check vehicle class/category accuracy (car, LCV, truck, bus, etc.).
- Verify FASTag/RFID transactions and payment status.
- Review failed, rejected, or disputed transactions.
- Identify incorrect toll deductions and report discrepancies.
- Validate images captured by lane cameras.
- Check vehicle details against transaction records.

Handle exception cases such as:

- Blacklisted FASTags
- Insufficient balance
- Multiple deductions
- Wrong vehicle classification
- System errors
- Maintain transaction validation reports.
- Coordinate with toll operators and IT teams for transaction issues.
- Follow SOPs for auditing and compliance.
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of toll data.
