Job Description: A Weighbridge Operator for Data Entry is responsible for operating a weighbridge to weigh vehicles, accurately recording all weight data into a computer system, and managing related documentation. Key duties include recording gross and tare weights, generating weighbridge slips and reports, performing basic equipment maintenance, and communicating with drivers and other staff to ensure accurate data and smooth logistics. Core responsibilities

- Weighing vehicles: Operate the weighbridge to accurately measure the weight of incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Data entry: Record gross (loaded) and tare (empty) weights into the computerized system.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all weighing transactions.
- Documentation: Generate and issue weighbridge tickets, slips, and other required documentation for drivers and stakeholders.
- Data verification: Verify vehicle and load information against documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Equipment maintenance: Perform routine inspections, cleaning,



and minor maintenance on the weighbridge equipment.
- Communication: Communicate instructions to drivers and report any malfunctions or issues to the relevant department.
- Reporting: Compile daily, weekly, or monthly weight reports for management.

Required skills and qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including weighbridge software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Positive communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic health and safety practices is often advantageous.
- A Grade 12 certificate is often listed as a requirement.
- Previous experience in a weighbridge, data entry, or logistics role can be beneficial.
