Job Description Controller (Ahmedabad, India)

/n Position Summary

/n Sikich is seeking a Controller with 8+ years of accounting or audit experience. The ideal candidate must have experience in US GAAP general accounting, financial statement preparation or review/audit, and team management experience. The Controller will own oversee the month-end close and accounting processes of our clients.

This role is highly client-facing and requires close collaboration with U.S.-based engagement teams and executive client stakeholders.

/n What will you do in this role?
/n /n Own the monthly and annual close processes for assigned clients
/n Own accuracy and completeness of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

/n Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and client-specific policies. In some instances, help clients implement accrual and GAAP practices

/n Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations and actionable insights

/n Support technical accounting topics, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), accruals, consolidations, complex transactions (Opening Balance Sheet review), etc.
/n Serve as the primary accounting lead for a portfolio of clients across industries (e.g., SaaS, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, professional services, healthcare, etc.)




/n Establish and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
/n Support audit readiness and coordinate with external auditors
/n Own the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial reporting for assigned clients
/n Advise clients on accounting policies, controls and process improvements
/n Build strong relationships with U.S.-based clients, acting as a trusted advisor on accounting and financial matters
/n Participate in regular client meetings (often overlapping U.S. time zones) to review financial results, address issues, and provide insights
/n Manage and mentor a team of accountants that perform the day-to-day accounting
/n Own quality and timeliness of all client deliverables and ensure adherence to quality and turnaround standards
/n Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation within client engagements
/n Collaborate with U.S.-based managers/directors to align on deliverables, timelines, and priorities
/n /n What do you need to succeed in this role?
/n /n Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CA, CPA (US), MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional qualification preferred, with demonstrated experience in U.S. GAAP accounting.




/n CPA (US) is a major plus.
/n Strong understanding of US GAAP.
/n Managed team(s) having at least 10-20 team members.

/n Prior experience in a Delivery Management role for a US based firm.

/n Experience with U.S. accounting systems (e.g., Net Suite, Quick Books, etc.)
/n Knowledge of US accounting systems.
/n Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
/n Organizational skills to manage a big team and strategic client engagements.
/n Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
/n Proactive approach to accuracy and attention to detail.
/n Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
/n Leadership and team management skills.

/n Possesses a combination of both problem-solving and innovation skills to attend to several technical production challenges.
