Position Overview

Taazaa Tech is seeking an analytical, self-driven, and passionate Senior Search Engineer to join its Core Engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Apache Solr, Apache Lucene, Lucidworks, Java, and Enterprise Search technologies.

This role involves working directly with customers and cross-functional teams to understand complex information challenges, design and implement enterprise search solutions, and optimize search performance across diverse industries.

The Senior Search Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert by providing consulting and development services, creating reusable components and accelerators, and communicating customer requirements to Product and Engineering teams. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, leading technical teams, and promoting engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert-level Apache Solr and Apache Lucene consulting and development services.

- Engage with stakeholders to understand business information challenges.

- Identify customer pain points, priorities, requirements, and success criteria.

- Research and resolve complex issues involving Solr, Lucene,



and related technologies.

- Create reusable solutions, components, recipes, and accelerators.

- Communicate customer requirements and use cases with Product and Engineering teams.

- Lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers.

- Manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.

- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise search solutions.

- Adapt to different industries and business use cases.

- Clearly communicate technical concepts and proposed solutions to stakeholders.

- Develop innovative and scalable enterprise search solutions.

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and customer teams to deliver successful outcomes.

- Support junior engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

- Promote engineering best practices across the organization.

- 5+ years of full-time industry experience

- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms

- Experience with enterprise systems and asynchronous architectures

- Experience with cloud technologies and Kubernetes-based deployments

- Familiarity with databases, data analysis, ETL concepts, and NoSQL

- Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and presentation skills

- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
