About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Political Communication Lead to lead strategic communications, shape political narratives, manage media relations, and oversee crisis communication for high-profile political campaigns and public affairs initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional communication skills, political acumen, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations while protecting and enhancing the public image of political leaders and organizations.

Key Responsibilities
n
● Develop and execute comprehensive political communication strategies aligned with campaign objectives.
n
● Craft compelling messaging, campaign narratives, speeches, press releases, talking points, policy briefs, and opinion articles.
n
● Lead media relations by building strong relationships with journalists, editors, television channels, and digital media platforms.
n
● Design and implement integrated communication campaigns across print, digital, television, radio, and social media.
n
● Lead crisis communication planning and execution by anticipating potential issues, developing response strategies, preparing official statements, coordinating rapid response teams, and managing reputational risks during political or public crises.
n
● Monitor news cycles, media coverage, public opinion, and political developments to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
n
● Collaborate with research, analytics, digital, and campaign teams to develop data-driven communication strategies.
n
● Manage spokesperson preparation, media briefings, interviews,
debates, and public appearances.
n
● Develop communication strategies for elections, policy launches, governance initiatives, and stakeholder engagement.
n
● Ensure consistency in messaging across all communication channels.
n
● Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
n
● Build and maintain relationships with political leaders, government officials, influencers, media professionals, and strategic partners.
n
● Lead and mentor communication executives while ensuring timely execution of communication plans.
n
Crisis Management Responsibilities
n
● Develop proactive crisis communication frameworks and contingency plans.
n
● Monitor political, social, and media risks that may impact the organization's reputation.
n
● Lead rapid response communication during political controversies, misinformation campaigns, emergencies, and reputation-related incidents.
n
● Prepare crisis statements, FAQs, holding statements, and media responses.
n
● Coordinate with legal, campaign, policy, and leadership teams during crisis situations.
n
● Manage social media communication during crises to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
n
● Conduct post-crisis evaluations and recommend improvements to crisis communication strategies.
n
Required Skills
n
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Malayalam.
n
● Strong understanding of political communication, public affairs, and electoral campaigns.
n
● Expertise in media relations, public relations, and strategic messaging.
n
● Proven experience in Crisis Communication and Reputation Management.
n
● Strong speechwriting, content creation, and storytelling abilities.
n
● Deep understanding of current affairs, public policy, and political dynamics.
n
● Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
n
● Ability to perform under pressure and make strategic decisions in time-sensitive situations.

● Strong leadership, analytical, and presentation skills.
n
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital communication tools, and social media platforms.

Preferred Background

● Experience in political consulting firms, election campaigns, government communication, public affairs, media organizations, or public policy institutions.

● Experience working with senior political leaders, ministers, elected representatives, or government stakeholders.
n
● Demonstrated success in handling crisis communication, reputation management, and high-profile media engagements.

Qualification
n
● Bachelor's or Master's Degree from a Tier 1 Institute (Preferred).
n
● Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
n
