Job Summary
- The Civil Engineer will provide technical support to the Women and Child Development (ICDS) Department for planning, assessment, monitoring, and quality assurance of infrastructure-related activities.
- The Civil Engineer will work closely with Government officials to ensure quality implementation of Anganwadi Centre (AWC) infrastructure and provide need-based technical support to the Project Tushti team.
Key Responsibilities
For Department (WCD-ICDS)
- Provide technical guidance to the ICDS Department on infrastructure-related activities for AWCs.
- Support Government officials during site inspections and infrastructure planning.
- Support the preparation of plan for bridging identified gaps at field level and support ICDS in coordinating with various offices like WASMO, DRDA, R&B.;
- Identify the AWCs for repairing, upgradation or Dilapidation.
- Work Regarding Online Portals related to infrastructure.
- Field visits to the districts under the zone are conducted periodically (Specially when AWCs, Sector Office, Block Office construction are ongoing) with ICDS team if required.
- Coordinate with district and block-level officials on civil infrastructure-related matters.
- Quality assurance of ongoing construction as per approved design and specification.
- Data validation and strengthening of various components of AWCs Infrastructure.
- Follow the instructions given by State office & RDD Office
- Perform any other civil engineering-related assignment as assigned by the Department.
Support to Project Tushti (Need-Based)
- Provide need-based technical support for infrastructure assessments, verification of the scope of work, and quality checks of completed Smart AWC civil works, as requested by the Project Tushti team.
- Support Smart AWC documentation by providing technical inputs, site observations, photographs, and documentation of infrastructure-related initiatives, as required.
- Field Visits will be undertaken as per the requirements of the Department and Project.
Qualifications and Skills
- JSI Foundation seeks a results-oriented individual with the ability to produce high quality deliverables, manage multiple concurrent tasks, meet tight deadlines and pay close attention to detail. The successful candidate is required to have:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering/ Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction supervision, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with Government departments or public infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Sound knowledge of building construction practices and quality standards.
- Valuable documentation and report-writing skills. Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Fluency in Gujarati (reading, writing, and speaking).

- Selected candidate will be expected to be based at the assigned region headquarter at their own cost.
