Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate should have 1 3 years of experience in blood sample collection and handling, preferably from the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, pathology, or healthcare industry. The candidate must possess solid technical skills, maintain high standards of hygiene, and ensure a comfortable experience for patients during sample collection.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for patients of all age groups.
- Collect blood and other required specimens following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory.
- Ensure proper patient identification before sample collection.
- Maintain infection control protocols and follow universal safety precautions.
- Prepare and maintain collection equipment, consumables, and workstations.
- Monitor sample quality to avoid hemolysis, contamination, or labeling errors.
- Maintain accurate records of collected samples and patient information.
- Coordinate with laboratory personnel for timely sample processing.
- Handle patient queries professionally and provide reassurance during the collection process.
- Dispose of biomedical waste in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Ensure compliance with NABL, ISO,



and internal quality standards wherever applicable.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in Phlebotomy will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 1 3 years of experience as a Phlebotomist.
- Experience in pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, pathology labs, or healthcare organizations is preferred.

Required Skills

- Expertise in venipuncture and blood specimen collection.
- Knowledge of specimen handling and transportation procedures.
- Understanding of infection control and biomedical waste management.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and SOP compliance.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining patient and sample records.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in pharmaceutical, diagnostics, pathology, or hospital environments.
- Good interpersonal and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a healthcare team.
- Punctual, disciplined, and committed to maintaining high-quality healthcare standards.
