Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & P&L; Management

- Formulate and execute the short-term and long-term business strategy for the injection moulding division to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Own and manage the entire business unit budget, ensuring optimized CapEx and OpEx utilization.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics (EBITDA, ROI, OEE, Scrap Rates, and Working Capital) and implement corrective actions as needed.

2. Business Development & Client Relationship Management

- Drive market share expansion by identifying new business avenues in core sectors (e.g., Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Medical Devices, Packaging, White Goods).
- Nurture and manage strategic high-value client accounts, ensuring maximum customer satisfaction and on-time delivery (OTD).
- Oversee the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, ensuring competitive pricing strategies that secure business while protecting profit margins.

3. Plant Operations & Engineering Excellence

- Provide leadership to plant managers, process engineers, and tool room teams to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Oversee New Product Development (NPD) and trial processes from design concept/Mold Flow analysis to final mass production.
- Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and 5S methodologies to minimize cycle times and reduce scrap.
- Ensure rigorous preventive maintenance schedules for injection moulding machines (ranging from low to high tonnage), auxiliary equipment,



and hot/cold runner moulds to eliminate unplanned downtime.

4. Quality, Compliance & HSE

- Uphold the highest quality standards, ensuring full compliance with international regulatory and customer-specific frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 for medical).
- Lead the resolution of critical quality escapes or customer complaints using robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA systems.
- Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols across the shop floor to maintain a zero-accident workplace.

5. Supply Chain & Inventory Control

- Oversee materials management (polymers, masterbatches, inserts) and optimize inventory levels to balance working capital with uninterrupted production.
- Collaborate with procurement to build strategic, cost-effective partnerships with raw material suppliers and tooling vendors.

6. People Management & Culture

- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing, cross-functional team of plant operators, engineers, and sales professionals.
- Identify training needs, implement skill-mapping programs, and champion a safe, collaborative, and accountable work culture.

Preferred candidate profile

Education

- Required: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Technology, Polymer Science,



or Production Engineering.
- Preferred: MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree in Business Management / Operations from a reputable institute.

Experience

- Total Experience: 15+ years of experience in the plastic injection moulding manufacturing industry.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Plant Head, Operations Director, or Business Unit Head) handling a significant independent P&L.;
- Industry Background: Strong preference for candidates with exposure to Tier-1 Automotive, Medical Devices, High-Precision Electronics, or high-volume Consumer Goods.

Technical & Core Competencies

- Deep Domain Knowledge: Proficient in injection moulding processes, scientific moulding principles, resin properties (commodity and engineering plastics), and secondary operations (painting, welding, laser etching, assembly).
- Tooling Expertise: Solid understanding of tool design, mold manufacturing, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting mold defects (flash, short shots, warp, sink marks).
- Industry 4.0 / Automation: Familiarity with modern robotics, automated pick-and-place systems, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Quality Tools: Advanced knowledge of 7 QC Tools, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC.
