About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Purchase Engineer to join our Strategic Sourcing team. The role is responsible for sourcing mechanical components, developing supplier partnerships, driving cost optimisation, and ensuring timely procurement to support manufacturing and project execution. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of mechanical components, vendor management, procurement processes, and SAP.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure mechanical components, fabricated parts, machining parts, bearings, fasteners, structural steel, and other BOP items while ensuring timely availability.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost and quality objectives.
- Analyse purchase requirements and implement effective sourcing strategies to support production and project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Projects, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure procurement aligns with technical specifications and business requirements.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD/DXF files, and product specifications for accurate procurement.
- Manage the complete procurement cycle including RFQs, purchase orders, vendor follow-ups, invoice reconciliation, GST compliance,



and payment coordination.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve supply-related issues, and drive new vendor development and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Maintain SAP master data, procurement documentation, and process hygiene while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate logistics, warehousing, import clearance, and inventory planning to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Drive year-on-year cost optimisation, inventory reduction, ARC closures, and continuous process improvements.

Required Technical Skills

- Solid knowledge of mechanical components including fabricated parts, machining parts, bearings, fasteners, structural steel, and BOP items.
- Understanding of raw materials such as Stainless Steel (SS), Mild Steel (MS), Aluminium, and their grades.
- Ability to read and interpret Mechanical CAD/DXF drawings.
- Hands-on experience in vendor development, strategic sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
- Working knowledge of SAP (Business One preferred) and advanced MS Excel.
- Understanding of GST, commercial documentation, logistics, warehousing, and import clearance processes.
- Good understanding of procurement planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
