Data Warehouse Engineer (Vertica Talend)

Reporting Relationship: Senior Technical Specialist

Job location: Mumbai

Note: Need at Least 4-5 Year exp resource

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and optimize existing data warehouse pipelines and data models in Vertica
2. Develop and enhance ETL workflows using Talend
3. Convert Oracle stored procedures, queries, and logic into optimized Vertica-based data models
4. Interpret business requirements and construct required SQL/query logic

1. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and translate requirements into technical specifications
2. Ensure high precision, data quality, and auditability, especially for regulatory reporting
3. Support downstream reporting systems including SSAS and Power BI
4. Work with PostgreSQL and other auxiliary data systems as needed
5. Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize SQL/data models

Education and Certifications:

- Mandatory Bachelors degree (B.Tech /B.E.)

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities





- Strong experience with Vertica (or similar MPP data warehouse platforms)
- Hands-on expertise in Talend ETL development
- Proficiency in SQL, especially query optimization and data modelling
- Experience in Oracle SQL / PL-SQL and migration to up-to-date DW platforms
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modelling, ETL, data quality)
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including OLAP and data cubes.
- Experience with metadata management and implementing data quality frameworks.
- Programming skills in Python, SQL, or Java for building data workflows and automation scripts.
