ROLE SUMMARY
Lead the organization's IT function end-to-end infrastructure, networking, security, hardware, helpdesk support, and emerging technology adoption. Own IT strategy, budgets, vendor relationships, and compliance, while acting as a hands-on generalist for a small-to-mid-sized team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day IT operations: servers, network, endpoints, backups, and disaster recovery
- Design and enforce IT security policies — access control, patching, endpoint protection, incident response
- Oversee networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls) across office and field locations
- Manage hardware lifecycle: procurement, AMC/vendor contracts, asset tracking, and disposal
- Lead a small helpdesk/support team; ensure timely resolution of user issues via ticketing tools
- Ensure compliance with data privacy norms (DPDP Act), software licensing, and audit requirements
- Own the IT budget, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization
- Evaluate and pilot AI/ML tools for productivity, automation, and data insights across departments
- Maintain documentation: SOPs, network diagrams, asset registers, and DR plans
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering; MBA or PG diploma in IT Management preferred
- 7–12+ years in IT, including 3–5 years leading a team or department
- Certifications preferred: CompTIA Network+/Security+, CCNA, ITIL Foundation; CISSP/CISM a plus
- Proven experience managing infrastructure, security, and vendors in a small-to-mid-sized organization
- Prior exposure to compliance-heavy or audited environments (NGO, BFSI, or similar) is an advantage

Technical
- Windows server administration, Active Directory Microsoft Outlook
- Networking, firewalls, and VPN management
- Cloud fundamentals (Azure/AWS/Google Workspace)
- Backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity basics
Leadership & Emerging Tech
- Vendor management, budgeting, and negotiation
- Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder communication
- Working understanding of AI/ML: what these tools do, common business use cases (chatbots, automation, data analysis), and how to evaluate vendor claims — no coding expertise required
- Awareness of responsible/ethical AI use and data privacy in AI tools
