Position- Procurement and Planning Manager
Location- Angola, Central Africa
Reports to- Supply Chain Head

ROLE PURPOSE

Lead integrated business planning, demand forecasting, and procurement functions to ensure robust supply chain performance, cost optimization, and vendor management for beverage manufacturing operations in Angola.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Demand & Supply Planning Leadership

Lead monthly S&OP; cycles; ensure forecast accuracy 95%, DOH optimization

Review forecast bias by channel/SKU; implement continuous improvement initiatives

Translate demand into production/material requirements with zero unplanned stockouts

Develop and track KPIs: Forecast Accuracy, DOH, COF, Ageing inventory, Stockout incidents

Implement demand sensing, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning

2. Procurement & Vendor Management

Develop category sourcing strategies ensuring cost competitiveness, quality, and reliability

Lead vendor evaluation, selection, and KPI management (OTIF, quality, compliance)

Drive 10-15% annual procurement cost savings through negotiations and alternative sourcing

Monitor vendor scorecards; conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs)

Manage GRN, vendor reconciliations, and working capital optimization with Finance

Liaison with CHAs (Customs House Agents) for smooth import clearance

3. Cost Optimization & Governance

Identify and quantify procurement savings opportunities across raw materials, packaging, logistics

Drive CM1 margin improvement through cost governance, BOM optimization, supplier value engineering

Implement purchase automation, demand-driven ordering, and supplier collaboration platforms

Lead RCA/CAPA for stockouts, excess inventory, and cost overruns

Ensure 100% compliance with procurement policies, approval matrices, and governance frameworks

Provide monthly reporting to Supply Chain Director and CFO on procurement performance

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with NPD and Quality for BOM finalization, SKU onboarding, spec alignments





Coordinate with Operations and Warehouse on inbound logistics and safety stock levels

Collaborate with Manufacturing on material requirements and lead time management

Support Finance on material cost forecasts, budget variance analysis, and working capital planning

Build relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, customs agents, and 3PLs

Represent supply chain at executive meetings and strategic planning sessions

5. Process Excellence & System Implementation

Design and document SOPs for demand planning, procurement, and vendor management

Implement/optimize ERP systems (SAP-IBP, NetSuite, Zoho) for planning modules

Build dashboards and automated reports for KPI tracking and visibility

Establish review cadences (daily standup, weekly planning, monthly S&OP;) with governance

Drive continuous improvement culture through Lean Six Sigma and problem-solving

Lead system implementation and user adoption within 6-9 months

6. Team Leadership & Development (2nd in Command Function)

Recruit, onboard, and develop Demand Planners, Procurement Managers, and Coordinators

Establish transparent goals, KPIs, and development plans for team members

Build capability through training in planning, ERP systems, negotiation, data analytics

Foster culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning

Deputize for Supply Chain Director: manage SC operations during absence, make strategic decisions

Lead cross-functional reviews ensuring transparency, discipline, and data-driven decisions

PROFILE & SKILLS

Education

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management,



Procurement, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience)

Knowledge, Skill and Behaviour

KNOWLEDGE: S&OP;, demand forecasting, material planning, procurement processes

KNOWLEDGE: ERP systems (SAP-IBP)

KNOWLEDGE: Supply chain metrics (COF, DOH, OTIF, MAPE, Forecast Accuracy)

KNOWLEDGE: BOM structures, cost governance, CM1 margin drivers

SKILLS: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH)

SKILLS: Demand forecasting (time series, causal, consensus planning)

SKILLS: Data analytics and visualization (Power BI/Tableau nice-to-have)

SKILLS: Vendor negotiation and contract management

Experience

REQUIRED: 10-12 years progressive experience in planning, procurement, or supply chain leadership

REQUIRED: Minimum 4-5 years in management/leadership role

REQUIRED: FMCG or Food & Beverage Manufacturing background

REQUIRED: Demonstrated track record in S&OP;/IBP management

REQUIRED: Vendor management and 10-15% annual procurement cost savings

REQUIRED: ERP systems experience (SAP MM/PP/SD preferred)

PREFERRED: 2-3 years import/export and customs clearance experience

PREFERRED: Angola or African market knowledge

PREFERRED: Co-manufacturing and multi-plant operations experience

PREFERRED: APICS CSCP/CPIM certification

PREFERRED: Lean Six Sigma or equiv
