Key Roles and Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, child-centered lessons aligned with the CBSE/Cambridge curriculum.
- Prepare weekly and yearly lesson plans, worksheets, teaching aids, and classroom activities.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Integrate technology and experiential learning into classroom instruction.
- Encourage inquiry-based and activity-based learning.
Student Assessment
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school policy.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and behaviour.
- Prepare report cards and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and implement intervention strategies.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, protected, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Establish classroom routines and behaviour expectations.
- Promote discipline through positive reinforcement and restorative practices.
- Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and attractive displays of student work.
Student Well-being
- Support the social, emotional, and moral development of students.
- Observe and report any concerns related to student welfare or safeguarding.
- Encourage values such as respect, empathy, responsibility, and teamwork.
- Build positive relationships with every child.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and well-being.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and address parent concerns professionally.
- Share classroom updates, homework,
and important announcements through approved communication channels.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in assemblies, school events, field trips, celebrations, and co-curricular activities.
- Assist in planning and organizing competitions, exhibitions, and annual events.
- Attend staff meetings, training programmes, workshops, and professional development sessions.
- Perform examination duties, supervision, and other responsibilities assigned by the school.
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain lesson plans, assessment records, portfolios, and classroom documentation.
- Complete all academic documentation within the prescribed timelines.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and educational standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
- D.El.Ed./B.El.Ed. may also be considered for primary teaching positions.
- CTET qualification is preferred for CBSE schools.
- Cambridge teaching experience or certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 25 years of teaching experience in Primary Grades (Grades 1–2) in a CBSE, Cambridge, or equivalent international curriculum.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills and strong teaching aptitude may also be considered.
