University of the West of Scotland (UK), at our new UWS Bangalore campus is hiring an Associate Professor MSc AI Programme Coordinator. The role involves programme leadership, teaching, and research, and requires an international PhD in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related STEM field. This is an opportunity to build a flagship AI programme in an internationally partnered academic environment.

MSc AI Programme Scope

The selected candidate will lead the MSc Artificial Intelligence programme and contribute to quantitative and analytical modules across other JBS programmes. The curriculum covers:

What You Will Do

Teaching & Curriculum Leadership

- Coordinate and deliver the MSc AI programme by designing and teaching the curriculum, managing programme quality, assessments, laboratories, and supervising dissertations and AI capstone projects.
- Enhance academic and industry relevance by collaborating with UWS on curriculum development, integrating hands-on AI tools and cloud platforms, contributing to other programmes, and delivering executive AI training for industry.

Research & Scholarly Activity

- Drive AI research excellence by publishing in top journals and conferences, collaborating with UWS, securing research grants, and building an internationally recognized research profile.
- Advance applied AI innovation by supervising student research, mentoring researchers, presenting at leading conferences, and partnering with industry on real-world AI projects.

Programme Coordination & Academic Administration

- Coordinate and manage the MSc AI programme by overseeing curriculum quality, programme reviews, computing infrastructure, assessments,



and compliance with academic and accreditation standards.
- Support academic excellence and student success by mentoring students, coordinating with faculty, IT, and industry advisors, and driving continuous programme improvement.
- Strengthen industry collaboration by building AI partnerships, developing placement opportunities, and leading live AI projects with technology companies, startups, and government initiatives.
- Enhance institutional impact by representing JBS at AI forums and conferences, contributing to AI policy discussions, and delivering executive AI education for corporate partners.

What We Are Looking For

Education

- Essential qualifications: Completed PhD from a recognized university in India or the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, or Europe in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related STEM field, along with a relevant Masters degree and strong AI/ML technical expertise.

Experience

- Upto 8 years of teaching and/or applied AI research experience, with expertise in Python, AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, scikit-learn, LangChain), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- AI/ML industry experience is highly desirable, and professional certifications such as Google Skilled ML Engineer, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, TensorFlow Developer, or DeepLearning.AI are an added advantage.

Research & Publication Standards

- Publication requirement: At least 5 peer-reviewed publications,



with 3 in Scopus/Web of Science-indexed journals or IEEE/ACM proceedings, including 1 in a top-tier AI/CS venue (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, AAAI, IJCAI).
- Research impact: Contributions such as arXiv preprints, open-source AI projects, GitHub repositories, and Kaggle achievements are valued alongside formal publications.
- Active research pipeline: Ongoing papers, funded AI projects, workshop publications, or government AI advisory work are highly desirable.

- Excellent communicator with strong spoken and written English, able to explain complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Applied AI expert with hands-on experience in building, deploying, and supervising end-to-end AI and machine learning projects.
