- The Patent Agent supports the protection and management of intellectual property by preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications.
- The role involves working closely with inventors, researchers, engineers, and legal teams to identify patentable inventions and develop effective patent strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and file patent applications.
- Conduct patentability, prior art, and freedom-to-operate searches.
- Manage patent prosecution before patent offices.
- Analyze inventions and prepare technical disclosures.
- Support patent portfolio development and maintenance.
- Monitor competitor patents and technology trends.
- Coordinate with inventors, R&D; teams, and external counsel.
- Assist with IP due diligence and patent landscape analyses.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Science, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Qualified/registered Patent Agent (as applicable in the jurisdiction).
- Experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
- Solid technical writing and analytical skills.
