Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor with 2 to 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying and Procurement. This full-time, on-site role requires hands-on expertise in cost estimation, tendering, billing, Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) preparation, procurement coordination, and commercial management. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to monitor project costs, manage procurement activities, prepare accurate documentation, and optimize project value while ensuring timely procurement and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Tender BOQs, GFC BOQs, comparative statements, and technical data sheets.
- Conduct rate analysis and assist in deriving unit rates for civil and structural works.
- Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for high-rise RCC structures.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and evaluate commercial offers from vendors and suppliers.
- Review and analyze AutoCAD drawings to prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Perform cost analysis, monitor project budgets, and prepare periodic cost reports.
- Document design revisions and evaluate their impact on project costs and procurement requirements.
- Maintain updated databases of item rates, vendor information, material specifications, and historical cost data.
- Evaluate quotations from contractors, vendors, and suppliers through comparative analysis.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and site teams to ensure timely procurement and smooth project execution.
- Monitor material deliveries and procurement schedules to support uninterrupted project progress.
- Visit project sites as required to validate work progress, quantities, and procurement requirements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, budgets, procurement policies, and project specifications throughout execution.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Vendor Management, and Billing within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD familiarity with CostX, Bluebeam, or similar quantity surveying software is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of project costing, procurement processes, rate analysis, BOQ preparation, and commercial evaluation.
- Knowledge of vendor management, procurement planning, and purchase order processes.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Knowledge of procurement planning, vendor negotiations, and material sourcing.
- Ability to prepare procurement schedules and monitor material availability.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under project deadlines.
- Familiarity with ERP systems used for procurement and project cost management is an added advantage.
