Role summary

We are looking for an experienced webMethods Administrator to manage, administer, and support the Software AG webMethods integration platform across Development, Testing, UAT, Pre-Production, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, performance tuning, patch management, and infrastructure optimization to ensure a highly available, secure, and scalable integration platform.

The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application development, middleware, database, network, security, and cloud teams to maintain platform stability and support enterprise integration services.

Role & responsibilities

- Administer and maintain the Software AG webMethods platform across all environments, including Development, Testing, UAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain webMethods products in accordance with enterprise standards and best practices.
- Monitor platform health, system performance, resource utilization, and service availability to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage and administer webMethods components, including:
- Integration Server
- Universal Messaging
- API Gateway
- Command Central
- Optimize (where applicable)

- Perform routine health checks, preventive maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Apply product patches, hotfixes, cumulative fixes, and version upgrades while minimizing service disruption.
- Plan and execute platform upgrades and migrations, including rollback strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform, middleware, and infrastructure issues within agreed service levels.
- Optimize platform performance by tuning JVM settings, connection pools, memory utilization, thread pools, caching, and messaging configurations.
- Support infrastructure scaling activities by provisioning new nodes, expanding clusters, and optimizing platform capacity based on business demand.




- Configure and maintain clustering, load balancing, failover, and high availability (HA) solutions.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, replication, testing, and failover exercises.
- Collaborate with development teams during application deployments and production releases.
- Automate administrative tasks using scripting and deployment tools where applicable.
- Monitor logs, alerts, and system metrics, and proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact business operations.
- Maintain system documentation, operational runbooks, installation guides, configuration documents, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, audit requirements, and enterprise governance standards.

Participate in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and on-call support rotations

Preferred candidate profile

- Strong hands-on experience administering the Software AG webMethods platform.
- Experience with:
- webMethods Integration Server
- Universal Messaging
- API Gateway
- Command Central
- Optimize (preferred)

- Solid knowledge of:

- Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration
- JVM tuning and performance optimization
- Cluster configuration and administration
- Load balancing and high availability architectures
- SSL/TLS certificate management
- LDAP/Active Directory integration
- Authentication and authorization mechanisms

- Experience with web/application servers, networking, firewalls, DNS, and reverse proxies.
- Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL used by webMethods components.
- Experience with shell scripting (Bash), PowerShell, or automation tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, or similar automation frameworks is an advantage.
- Experience working with VMware, virtualized environments, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is desirable.
- Understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or ELK Stack is an advantage.
