About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our Accounts team. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist in reconciliations, and ensure timely financial reporting. - Book all purchase invoices, including local purchases, imports, utilities, and perform import costing.
- Process and record accounts payable transactions accurately.
- Update accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
- Perform supplier and other payable reconciliations.
- Record petty cash payment vouchers (PV).
- Prepare and process bank payment entries.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile accrued purchase accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial data in the ERP system and accounting databases.
- Assist in monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Support statutory audit requirements by providing required documentation.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned by the Accounts Manager.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, and bookkeeping.
- Good understanding of statutory audit processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with ERP or accounting software (NetSuite preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and ownership.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of GCC VAT will be an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience using ERP or accounting software.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP will be preferred.
