Job Summary:

The Radiation Oncology Technologist is responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, ensuring accurate patient positioning, operating radiotherapy equipment, maintaining treatment records, and adhering to radiation safety, quality, and patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer external beam radiation therapy as per the treatment plan and Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
- Prepare and accurately position patients using immobilization devices for treatment.
- Operate Linear Accelerator (LINAC), CT Simulator, and other radiotherapy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity, treatment parameters, and setup before every treatment session.
- Assist in CT simulation, treatment planning procedures, and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
- Monitor patients during treatment and respond promptly to any discomfort or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation in the Oncology Information System (OIS).




- Perform routine machine quality assurance (QA) checks and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols, AERB guidelines, NABH standards, and infection control policies.
- Coordinate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, Oncology Nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and radiation safety precautions.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities, audits, and continuous education programs.

Qualifications:

- B.Sc. in Radiotherapy Technology / Radiation Therapy Technology or
- Diploma in Radiotherapy Technology (recognized institution)
- AERB-approved qualification as applicable.
