Position: Head of Department – Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

Location: Basti, Uttar Pradesh

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reporting To: Director

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic academician to lead our BCA Department. The ideal candidate will bring strong academic leadership, a passion for computer applications education, and the ability to mentor faculty and students while driving departmental growth and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide academic and administrative leadership to the BCA Department
- Plan, develop, and oversee the curriculum in line with university/regulatory guidelines
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the department
- Ensure quality teaching-learning processes and monitor academic outcomes
- Coordinate examinations, timetables, and academic schedules
- Foster industry collaborations, internships, and placement opportunities for students
- Encourage research, publications, and faculty development activities
- Ensure compliance with UGC/AICTE and affiliating university norms
- Represent the department in academic councils and institutional meetings




- Handle student grievances and maintain discipline within the department

Required Qualifications

- Education: MCA (Master of Computer Applications) — mandatory
- Eligibility: NET (UGC-NET) qualified — mandatory
- Ph.D. in Computer Science/Computer Applications will be an added advantage

Experience

- Minimum 5–10 years of teaching experience in a recognized college/university
- Prior experience in an administrative/HOD role preferred
- Strong academic record with proven leadership capabilities

Skills Required

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Robust leadership and team management abilities
- Sound knowledge of current trends in computer applications and IT curriculum
- Proficiency in academic administration and documentation
- Ability to build industry-academia partnerships
