Job Description :

We are looking for a skilled Purchase Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background and 8+ years of experience in procurement for electrical manufacturing. The candidate should have strong knowledge of fabrication processes, industrial machinery, and mechanical components used in electrical equipment manufacturing. The role involves strategic sourcing, vendor development, and ensuring timely availability of quality materials and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage procurement of mechanical and fabrication-related items, including:
- Sheet metal parts, enclosures, panels, busbar structures
- Fabricated assemblies, brackets, frames, and cabinets
- Industrial machinery, tools, and plant equipment
- Interpret technical drawings, fabrication designs, and specifications for accurate sourcing.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for fabrication and machining work.
- Handle RFQs, vendor negotiations, cost analysis, and finalization of purchase orders.
- Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure technical compliance.
- Ensure timely procurement to support production schedules and project timelines.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.




- Monitor inventory levels and avoid excess/obsolete stock.
- Manage logistics and delivery schedules, including coordination with transporters.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety norms, and contractual terms.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, machining, etc.).
- Understanding of industrial machinery and equipment procurement.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOQs/BOMs.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Valuable understanding of supply chain and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in procurement within electrical or industrial manufacturing.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience in electrical panel manufacturing, switchgear, or transformer industry.
- Exposure to heavy fabrication and OEM vendor management.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
