Job Summary:
The Cold Storage Operator is responsible for operation, monitoring and maintenance of cold storage systems used for preservation of chilli raw materials and finished products. The role includes handling refrigeration systems, temperature monitoring and ensuring uninterrupted cooling operations while following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and monitoring cold storage and refrigeration systems used in the factory.
- Maintaining required temperature and humidity levels for storage of chilli and related products.
- Inspecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, cooling units and refrigeration equipment regularly.
- Monitoring gas pressure, cooling efficiency and system performance to ensure smooth operations.
- Attending breakdowns and coordinating repairs of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Maintaining daily temperature logs, operation records and maintenance reports.
- Ensuring proper storage conditions to avoid spoilage, moisture damage or quality deterioration.
- Conducting preventive maintenance of refrigeration systems and related equipment.
- Checking electrical and mechanical components of cooling systems for protected operation.
- Following safety procedures related to refrigerant gas handling and electrical equipment.
- Coordinating with production, warehouse and maintenance teams for uninterrupted cold storage operations.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards inside cold storage areas.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Understanding of cold storage operations and temperature control
- Troubleshooting and maintenance skills for RAC systems
- Knowledge of safety standards and refrigerant handling
- Ability to maintain operational records and monitoring logs
Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC) or equivalent technical qualification.
- RAC Certified candidate preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in cold storage, food processing, warehouse or manufacturing industry preferred.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
