Business Analyst - Insurance Analytics | SQLSummary

Are you an experienced Business Analyst with expertise in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain? We are looking for a Business Analyst to bridge business and technology by gathering requirements, analyzing insurance data, and driving digital transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for professionals with solid experience in policy, claims, underwriting, SQL, and Agile delivery who thrive in a client-facing, analytics-driven environment.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, SMEs, and technology teams to gather, analyze, validate, and document business and functional requirements for insurance transformation initiatives.
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, source-to-target mappings, interface specifications, and functional documentation.
- Analyze insurance business processes across policy administration, claims, underwriting, and related systems to identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis, validate data mappings, support reconciliation activities,



and collaborate with data engineering and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, SIT, UAT, release validation, stakeholder walkthroughs, and post-implementation support to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, System Analyst, or Data Analyst, including 2-3 years of core Insurance domain experience across Policy Administration, Claims, and Underwriting.
- Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, stakeholder management, BRD/FRD creation, user stories, functional specifications, process documentation, and Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, data analysis, source-to-target mapping, interface mapping, data validation, and insurance data transformation initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with experience working in distributed/global delivery environments and directly interacting with business and client stakeholders.
