Please note before applying: This is an optical camp role, not a general sales role and not a store role. We are looking for either (a) optometrists / refractionists who also have optical sales experience, or (b) candidates with hands-on optical sales experience even if not formally trained as optometrists.
Applications without any optical background will not be considered.
About the role
This is a field-focused camp role. You'll travel to eye check-up camps across Bangalore (and occasionally elsewhere in Karnataka), where you'll either conduct eye tests or convert tested patients into customers. This role suits someone comfortable with both the technical side of eyewear and with talking to and closing customers in a camp setting.
What you'll do
- Conduct basic eye screening and vision/refraction testing at camps
- Advise patients on frames, lenses, lens types, and coatings, and counsel them toward the right purchase
- Generate sales and hit assigned targets at camps
- Plan and coordinate eye check-up camps with schools, communities, and partners — including registration, crowd management, and coordinating with optometrists and doctors
- Travel for camps and field activity (mainly Bangalore, occasionally wider Karnataka)
- Maintain patient records and prescriptions, follow up on deliveries and feedback
- Support camp setup, product handling, and reporting
- Be available at the office as reserve when no camps are scheduled
Who we're looking for
- Either a Diploma / Certificate in Optometry (or refractionist training) with optical sales exposure, or solid optical sales experience without a formal optometry qualification
- Working knowledge of optical products and vision testing
- Strong communication and customer-counselling skills (non-negotiable — you'll be face-to-face with patients daily)
- Genuinely comfortable with field work and regular travel
- Energetic, target-oriented, organized, and reliable with reporting
