As an Associate Vice President AVP Engineering your role will involve leading engineering delivery release management and client support operations You will be responsible for driving backend engineering excellence overseeing scalable microservicebased applications and ensuring highquality delivery across multiple enterprise clients Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor engineering managers team leads and backend engineering teams Drive architecture and design decisions for Javabased microservices applications Establish and enforce engineering best practices including code quality testing standards CI CD and API governance Ensure timely and highquality delivery across all client engagements Manage hiring performance reviews career development and succession planning Foster a culture of accountability innovation and continuous improvement Track and improve engineering KPIs such as sprint velocity deployment frequency and defect metrics Release Management Own endtoend release lifecycle management including planning scheduling risk assessment and execution Define release governance processes to support zerodowntime deployments Coordinate release readiness activities across engineering and DevOps teams Improve CI CD automation rollback strategies and deployment efficiency Maintain release calendars and proactively communicate with stakeholders and clients Drive continuous improvement in release predictability and change management Client Support Operations Oversee the client support team handling production issues and clientraised tickets Define and monitor SLA SLO adherence for response and resolution timelines Lead root cause analysis RCA and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues Establish support processes knowledge management and operational runbooks Act as escalation point for critical client incidents and coordinate crossfunctional resolution Present support metrics and operational reports to leadership and clients Qualifications Required 13 years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in engineering leadership Robust handson experience in Java Spring Boot Spring Cloud and enterprise application development Expertise in microservices architecture REST APIs eventdriven systems and distributed systems Experience managing multilayered engineering teams Robust exposure to release management in multiclient or SaaS environments Experience handling clientfacing support operations and SLAdriven environments Handson knowledge of cloud platforms AWS Azure GCP Docker and Kubernetes Good understanding of DevOps principles and CI CD pipelines Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills In addition to the above familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks Jira Confluence Agile delivery methodologies and certifications in Cloud DevOps Agile or Project Management frameworks are preferred Leadership competencies such as people leadership strategic thinking risk identification and datadriven decision making are essential for this role Experience Range 13 20 years Educational Qualifications B Tech B E and M Tech Skills Required Java Spring Boot Microservices AWS
