Job Description

Job Purpose

Supervise civil and structural works for substations and HVDC terminal stations, including deep foundations, converter halls, control buildings, trenches, equipment foundations and gantry structures.

Key Responsibilities

- Review approved civil and structural drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
- Verify site grading, excavation, filling, compaction and soil-improvement works.
- Supervise pile, raft, isolated, machine and equipment foundations.
- Monitor converter hall, valve hall, control building, relay room and auxiliary-building construction.
- Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts, inserts and concrete works.
- Verify equipment foundations for GIS, transformers, reactors, filters, switchgear and auxiliary systems.
- Supervise cable trenches, culverts, drains, oil pits, firewalls, bunds and water-retaining structures.
- Monitor structural-steel fabrication and erection for buildings, gantries,



bus supports and equipment structures.
- Check stub-setting, gantry alignment, levels, plumbness and bolt tightening.
- Monitor internal roads, drainage, boundary wall, landscaping and site-development works.
- Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire-protection and cable-routing requirements.
- Review concrete test results, material certificates, survey records and structural-inspection reports.
- Identify deviations and initiate RFIs, observations or NCRs.
- Verify as-built dimensions, levels and completion records.
- Support punch-list close-out and civil handover.
