Job Description:

ROLE OVERVIEW

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to build and manage our deployment infrastructure, automate our delivery pipelines, and keep our applications running reliably and securely. You'll own the setup and administration of Ubuntu-based servers that host PHP Laravel, Node.js, and Next.js applications — including FinTech applications where strong security and compliance are critical — and design the CI/CD workflows that ship them to production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up, configure, and maintain Ubuntu-based dedicated servers to run PHP Laravel, Node.js, Next.js, and other web applications.

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and GitHub Actions for automated build, test, and deployment.

Manage and optimize infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).

Implement and maintain security controls for FinTech applications — encryption in transit and at rest, secrets management, network segmentation, least-privilege access, and audit logging in line with financial-grade compliance requirements.

Configure and manage web servers (Nginx / Apache), process managers (PM2, Supervisor), and runtime environments (PHP-FPM, Node).

Containerize applications using Docker and manage orchestration where needed.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) for reproducible, version-controlled environments.

Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK) and respond to incidents.

Manage SSL certificates, domains, firewalls, and server hardening for security and compliance.





Handle database setup, backups, and disaster recovery (PostgreSQL / MySQL).

Optimize performance, cost, and scalability across infrastructure.

Collaborate with development teams to streamline releases and troubleshoot deployment issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years of professional DevOps / infrastructure experience.

Robust Linux / Ubuntu server administration skills. Hands-on experience deploying and running PHP Laravel, Node.js, and Next.js applications in production.

Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and GitHub.

Solid working knowledge of AWS cloud services.

Experience implementing security best practices for sensitive/financial applications — encryption, secrets management, IAM, vulnerability management, and audit/compliance readiness.

Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.

Proficiency with Nginx / Apache configuration. Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python for automation.

Understanding of networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, and server security best practices.

Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.

PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE

Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Ansible.

Exposure to multi-cloud (Azure / GCP) environments.

Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to FinTech (e.g. PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001) and government-grade deployment standards.

AWS certification (e.g. Solutions Architect, SysOps, DevOps Engineer)
