A Fitter is responsible for assembling installing maintaining and repairing industrial machinery mechanical equipment and structural metal components They interpret technical blueprints use precision tools to cut shape and fit parts and perform welding or maintenance tasks to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently Key Responsibilities and Duties Assembly and Installation Assembling and installing mechanical components machinery and structural parts according to blueprints schematics and specifications Maintenance and Repair Performing routine maintenance troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning machinery including replacing defective or broken parts Fabrication and Fitting Cutting threading bending and shaping metal components using tools like grinders saws and drills Technical Interpretation Reading and interpreting engineering drawings layouts and technical diagrams to determine project specifications Safety Compliance Adhering to all health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean work area Precision Measurement Using measuring instruments e g calipers micrometers to verify the accuracy of components Welding and Joining Using welding equipment TIG MIG Arc to fuse metal parts as required Core Skills and Qualifications Technical Knowledge Understanding of engineering science and technology Tool Proficiency Expertise in hand and power tools e g files saws grinders Analytical Skills Ability to diagnose mechanical problems efficiently Physical Stamina Capability to lift heavy objects and work in demanding environments Education Often requires an ITI certification or apprenticeship in fitting Job Type Full time Pay 13 000 00 - 20 000 00 per month Benefits Provident Fund Work Location In person
