JOB DESCRIPTION - PRODUCT DESIGNERS - RANJIT SINGH ROZI SHIKSHA KENDRA RSK About the Organization Ranjit Singh Rozi Shiksha Kendra RSK is a visionary initiative launched in 2019 through a generous donation from Late Shri Ranjit Singh an IIT Kanpur alumnus of the 1965 batch Driven by his dream of Prosperity for All RSK works to transform rural India by empowering youth with education skills and sustainable livelihood opportunities Our initiatives include model village development advanced training centres with smart classrooms skill-based courses organic farming projects village tourism promotion and water resource management At RSK you will be part of a mission-driven team working at the intersection of education technology and socio-economic transformation creating real lasting impact in rural communities Role Overview We have a few positions for product designers with creativity and passion to work on artisan clusters and create high quality products rooted in tradition with contemporary appeal Position Product Designer Reporting to Project Manager Location Rozi Shiksha Kendra IIT Kanpur Kanpur Nature of position Full Time Qualified candidates can consider on retainership basis as well Key Responsibilities Design and Development of handicraft products Develop an understanding of the craft and come up with design strategies Conceptualise new product range that are sustainable for handicraft home decor and lifestyle segments and could be taken up easily by the artisans Collaboration with experts and artisans Develop collaborations with design colleges and engage interns Work with the craft communities and build relationship of trust Survey the craft cluster and understand artisans strengths and skills Training of artisans Develop training modules Plan and deliver training to artisans Documentation and report writing Collect organize and maintain key organizational data Prepare reports dashboards and analytics to support decision-making Craft Clusters Designers could work on one or more clusters based on their expertise Terracotta pottery cluster of Bithoor and Gorakhpur and black pottery of Nizamabad Basketry using moonj kansa banana and other fibres in Prayagraj Unnao Amethi and Sultanpur Zari and zardozi cluster of Unnao Kannauj and Bareilly Hand block printing in Farrukhabad Handmade paper of Kalpi Wooden Toys of Chitrakoot and Varanasi Qualifications Skills Bachelor s Master s degree in Design 1 years of experience in the craft sector Creative thinker and Sound communication skills in Hindi or English How to Apply Send your CV and a brief cover letter to rsk iitk ac in by 30 November 2025 Job Type Full time Pay 21 600 00 - 30 000 00 per month Benefits Paid sick time Work Location In person
