Position Title Assistant Vice President - Engineering Department Global Corporate Commercial GC C Grade M6 Location Vikhroli - Head Office Mumbai Industry Preference General Insurance only Position Summary We are seeking an accomplished insurance professional to lead and manage the Engineering Line of Business LOB within the Global Corporate Commercial GC C segment This leadership role is responsible for defining and executing underwriting strategy delivering on portfolio performance and ensuring governance and compliance within the business The candidate will be accountable for the profitability and sustainable growth of the Engineering portfolio stakeholder engagement and people development in alignment with regional and global business objectives Key Responsibilities 1 LOB Strategy Execution Develop and implement a structured LOB underwriting strategy aligned with global and regional GC C guidelines Execute underwriting within risk appetite capital requirements and operational standards Define and monitor LOB-specific KPIs to ensure technical excellence and long-term sustainability 2 Portfolio Management Profitability Own full P L responsibility for the Engineering LOB Deliver top-line GWP and bottom-line NTR results Optimize product mix underwriting discipline and tri-party relationships with clients brokers and partners Take corrective actions where needed to manage loss ratios and maintain profitability 3 Underwriting Excellence Drive adherence to technical guidelines risk appetite and data quality standards Utilize underwriting tools exposure models and financial KPIs effectively Manage accumulation exposures and support re-underwriting or corrective action plans where needed 4 Governance Compliance Ensure full compliance with underwriting governance frameworks internal controls and regulatory requirements Supervise delegation of authority and support audit finance and actuarial functions with necessary documentation and insights Own and maintain local underwriting guidelines aligned with regional mandates 5 Team Leadership Development Lead and develop a high-performing underwriting team Foster a culture of accountability continuous learning and technical excellence Support knowledge sharing succession planning and the creation of future leaders in the LOB Qualifications Experience Education Graduate or Postgraduate preferably with a degree in Engineering Completion of a skilled insurance qualification is required Experience Minimum 10 years in commercial lines underwriting Proven track record of profitable Engineering LOB underwriting Experience in managing a country-level portfolio and interacting with cross-cultural and international stakeholders Key Competencies Strong commercial and technical underwriting acumen Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability Familiarity with reinsurance structures and CAT modelling High attention to compliance governance and audit standards Leadership skills to build and mentor diverse teams Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships clients brokers regulators Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay Up to 2 500 000 00 per year Schedule Day shift Work Location In person
