Job Title Botany Expert Plant Taxonomist Department Environment Research Ecology Reports To Project Manager Head of Environmental Services Job Summary We are seeking a qualified Botany Expert with solid expertise in plant taxonomy and species identification to conduct field surveys identify native and invasive plant species prepare botanical reports and support environmental assessments and conservation projects Key Responsibilities Identify and classify plant species trees shrubs herbs climbers grasses through field surveys and laboratory methods Conduct flora surveys biodiversity assessments and vegetation mapping Prepare species inventories herbarium samples and photographic records Identify rare endemic medicinal and invasive species and assess conservation status Support Environmental Impact Assessments EIA and ecological studies Provide technical inputs for afforestation landscaping and restoration projects Maintain botanical databases and GIS-linked vegetation records if applicable Coordinate with environmental engineers wildlife experts and project teams Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and biodiversity guidelines Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to clients and authorities Required Qualifications M Sc in Botany Plant Taxonomy Ecology Environmental Science specialization in taxonomy preferred Sound knowledge of Indian flora and regional vegetation types Ability to use botanical keys floras and field guides for accurate identification Experience in herbarium techniques and specimen preservation Basic knowledge of GIS mapping and biodiversity software is an advantage Willingness to conduct extensive fieldwork in different terrains and climates Experience 2-3 years experience in plant identification ecological surveys or biodiversity studies Experience in consultancy projects forest surveys or academic research preferred Key Skills Competencies Strong plant identification and classification skills Knowledge of plant morphology and taxonomy Excellent observation and documentation abilities Technical report writing Field data collection and analysis Team collaboration and communication Preferred Certifications Optional Training in Biodiversity Assessment EIA Studies Forest Department or Wildlife Institute short-term courses Job Type Full-time Pay 10 000 00 - 15 000 00 per month Work Location In person
