DESCRIPTION The Amazon Finance Automation Technology Team is looking for a seasoned Software Development leader to lead the Payables Data and Insights organization This role will be responsible to define vision and strategy and end-to-end ownership for engineering roadmap and products to effectively detect and prevent theft abuse fraud and waste at Amazon to securely manage Amazon s Payee data and to build the data insights for Finance Operations to make effective decisions In addition to strong technical depth ability to be a step ahead in learning and adopting emerging technology trends the role demands strong business acumen communication influencing and ability to navigate in the highly complex fast-paced matrix organization This is a senior people manager role leading a large group of software development engineers applied and data scientists data engineers and other technical individual contributors and managers spread across locations and geographies Key job responsibilities A successful technology leader at Amazon is a hands-on business technology and operations leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills While they rely on data they are equally effective in making judgment base decisions They detect signal from noise and prioritize ruthlessly in the interest of Amazon customers Frequently they have to make bold decisions in a timely manner They think out of the box and encourage and support their teams in doing so They communicate effectively at all levels including the most junior engineers to business and technology VPs and Directors at Amazon in individual and group setting As a part of this role you will Develop technology strategies to enable long-term strategic objectives and business goals Participate in and Influence cross org technology decisions Conduct business reviews with key customers and stakeholders Lead and develop a complex distributed software development organization Foster team culture inspired by Amazon s leadership principals Hire mentor coach and develop the necessary skills in your organization Own product operations including maintenance upgrades modernization and deprecation of software Define software development processes conduct reviews and report progress About the team Payables Tech s mission is to automate Account Payables AP processes to pay Amazon vendors payees and employees accurately and on time limiting human interactions only to monitor outcomes and exceptions delighting them with the best experience possible BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 10 years of engineering experience 5 years of engineering team management experience 10 years of planning designing developing and delivering consumer software experience Experience partnering with product or program management teams Experience managing multiple concurrent programs projects and development teams in an Agile setting Bachelor s degree in computer science computer engineering or related technical field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience designing and developing large scale high-traffic applications Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software hardware networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process including support for the interview or onboarding process please visit https amazon jobs content en how-we-hire accommodations for more information If the country region you re applying in isn t listed please contact your Recruiting Partner
