The Laser Cutting CAD Designer is responsible for creating preparing and optimizing 2D and 3D CAD files for laser cutting fabrication and production This role ensures that designs meet technical specifications material constraints and manufacturing standards The designer works closely with engineering production and customers to deliver accurate and production-ready files Develop detailed 2D 3D CAD drawings for laser cutting using software such as AutoCAD SolidWorks Fusion 360 or similar Convert drawings and concepts into accurate laser-ready files DXF DWG etc Optimize designs for laser cutting efficiency kerf compensation nesting part orientation tolerances Prepare flat patterns for sheet metal components and assemblies Ensure designs meet material specifications steel aluminum acrylic wood composites etc Produce technical drawings BOMs and documentation for production Collaborate with production teams to assess manufacturability and resolve design issues Check and revise drawings per feedback quality standards and revision control procedures Nest parts for cutting to minimize waste and maximize machine efficiency Maintain CAD libraries templates and standardized drawing practices Assist with prototype development and continuous improvement initiatives Education Experience Associate or Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design Drafting Technology or related field or equivalent experience 1-3 years of CAD design or laser cutting experience preferred Job Type Full time Pay 20 000 00 - 30 000 00 per month Work Location In person
